Mindful, the Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health is the Victorian statewide unit responsible for the delivery of postgraduate courses, training programs, professional development and research programs in child and adolescent mental health.

Mindful is auspiced by the University of Melbourne and supported by the Victorian Government. 

We have a teaching and research facility located in Travancore, Victoria and offer postgraduate courses and professional development.

Mindful is one of the partners in the Take 2 consortium together with Berry Street Victoria, Austin Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Latrobe University and the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) delivering a therapeutic service for children in care

Vision

Our vision is to strengthen the mental health delivery system for children, young people and families by

  • Developing the best mental health vocational training courses for child, adolescent and youth health, education and welfare professionals, and delivering these across Victoria
  • Promoting effective community and clinical interventions through continuing education, professional support and advocacy
  • Advancing prevention and intervention of child, adolescent and youth mental health difficulties, through training, research, and evaluation
  • Advocating for children and families
  • Developing links with others to promote the health and wellbeing of children, adolescents and young people
