Mindful Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health is the Victorian statewide unit responsible for workforce development and research in child and adolescent mental health.
Mindful is part of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne, with a teaching and research facility located in Travancore, Victoria. Our work is supported by the Victorian Government.
Mindful is one of the partners in the Take Two consortium together with Berry Street Victoria, La Trobe University, and the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) delivering a therapeutic service for infants, children, young people and their families.
Vision
Our vision is to strengthen the mental health delivery system for children, young people and families by
- Developing the best mental health vocational training courses for child, adolescent and youth health, education and welfare professionals, and delivering these across Victoria
- Promoting effective community and clinical interventions through continuing education, professional support and advocacy
- Advancing prevention and intervention of child, adolescent and youth mental health difficulties, through training, research, and evaluation
- Advocating for children and families
- Developing links with others to promote the health and wellbeing of children, adolescents and young people
