Who is the training for?

The training workshop is designed for psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists, mental health nurses, teachers, headspace clinicians, paediatricians, child & adolescent psychiatrists & trainees.

Who provides the training?

Ms Victoria Hingston, is the Senior Infant and Mental Health Consultant for Rowan View Children’s Centre in Ballarat. This programme is part of the Safe Haven Research Project targeting socially disadvantaged infants and toddlers. Victoria is a Speech Pathologist and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Parent and Infant Mental Health. She has over 10 years of clinical experience working with Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Parent and Infant Mental Health at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. Victoria is currently the president of the Victorian branch of the Australian Association of Infant Mental Health (AAIMH).

What does the training include?

This seminar offers an introduction to attachment and parenting, exploring the parent-child relationship and potential challenges that may arise. It will delve into the historical context of attachment theory and explain the differences between organised and disorganised attachment styles.

The seminar will examine key concepts in parenting, including intersubjectivity, internal working models, and parental reflective functioning. Participants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with these fundamental constructs prior to attending, as they will be applied to a detailed case study analysis.
