Who is the training for?
The training workshop is designed for psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists, mental health nurses, teachers, headspace clinicians, paediatricians, child & adolescent psychiatrists & trainees.
Who provides the training?
Dr Emma Sciberras was awarded a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (Child Specialisation) through the University of Melbourne in 2010. Emma is a Senior Clinical psychologist working in the Developmental Assessment and Management Program at the Alfred Infant Child and Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. Prior to this Emma worked in an academic position at Deakin University (2015-2023) as an Associate Professor leading a program of research focused on ADHD. Emma has published over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has attracted ~$9M in research funding.
What does the training include?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a is a neuro-developmental disorder that begins in early childhood and is regularly seen in presentations at Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. While ADHD is typically diagnosed by a paediatrician, child psychiatrist, and/or psychologist, the aim of this seminar is to provide some fundamental knowledge around the disorder to assist clinicians in recognising the signs within a mental health assessment.
